Filipino Card Game
From barrio fiesta tables in Cebu to late-night sessions in Manila, Tongits has always been part of Filipino culture. Now pgjili brings it online – same game, same excitement, real money on the line.
About the Game
Ask any Filipino from Quezon City to Davao and they'll tell you – Tongits is not just a card game, it's a tradition. Played at family reunions, barangay fiestas, and lazy Sunday afternoons, Tongits has been a staple of Filipino social life for decades. pgjili takes that beloved tradition and brings it into the digital age with Tongits Go, a fast-paced online version that stays true to the original while adding the convenience of playing anytime, anywhere.
Tongits Go is a three-player card game played with a standard 52-card deck. Each player is dealt 13 cards, and the goal is to form valid card combinations – called melds – and reduce the total point value of the unmatched cards in your hand. The player who runs out of cards first wins outright, or the player with the lowest point count when the draw pile runs out takes the pot.
What makes Tongits Go at pgjili special is the combination of skill and strategy. Unlike pure luck-based games, Tongits rewards players who can read the table, manage their hand efficiently, and time their calls correctly. It's the kind of game where a sharp Manileño or a seasoned Bisaya player can consistently outperform a careless opponent – and that's exactly what keeps the pgjili community coming back for more.
Deposits are quick and easy. Top up your pgjili wallet via GCash or PayMaya in seconds, and you're ready to join a table. Whether you're playing on your lunch break in Makati or winding down after a long day in Cebu, pgjili's Tongits Go tables are always open and always competitive.
How to Play
New to Tongits? No problem. Here's everything you need to know before sitting down at a pgjili table.
The dealer gets 13 cards; the other two players get 12 cards each. The remaining cards form the draw pile in the center. The dealer goes first.
On your turn, draw a card from the pile or pick up the top discard. Then discard one card face-up. The goal is to form melds and reduce your hand's point value.
You can lay down valid melds (sets or sequences) face-up on the table at any time during your turn. Laid-down cards no longer count toward your point total.
After a player discards, any opponent can challenge by calling "Fight" (Sagot). All players reveal their hands and the one with the lowest unmatched point total wins the round.
If you successfully meld all your cards and have zero unmatched cards, you declare "Tongits!" and win the round outright – no challenge possible. This is the highest win at pgjili's Tongits Go tables.
If the draw pile runs out before anyone wins, all players reveal their hands. The player with the fewest unmatched points wins the pot.
The lowest-value card in Tongits. Aces are great for keeping your hand count low.
Each number card is worth its printed value. A 7 of hearts counts as 7 points in your unmatched hand.
Face cards and 10s are the heaviest cards in your hand. Getting rid of these early is a key Tongits strategy at pgjili.
Three or four cards of the same rank, regardless of suit. Example: 7♠ 7♥ 7♦ is a valid set.
Three or more consecutive cards of the same suit . Example: 4♣ 5♣ 6♣ 7♣ is a valid sequence. Longer runs score better.
Strategy Guide
Tongits is a skill game. The more you understand the strategy, the better your results at pgjili's tables. Here are the tips that separate consistent winners from casual players.
Face cards and 10s are worth 10 points each. If you can't form a meld with them quickly, discard them early. Holding a King or Queen that doesn't fit a meld is a liability at any pgjili table.
Pay close attention to the discard pile. If an opponent throws a card you need, grab it. If they're discarding low cards, they may be close to a Tongits – time to call a Fight before they finish.
Laying down melds reduces your points but also signals your progress to opponents. Sometimes it's better to hold a meld in hand and wait for the right moment to declare Tongits in one move.
Only call a Fight when you're confident your point count is the lowest. A premature Fight call at pgjili can hand the win to an opponent who's been quietly building a low-count hand.
Set a session budget before you open a pgjili table. Tongits rounds are fast – it's easy to play more hands than planned. Decide your limit in advance and stick to it.
